About This Show

Show Info: ACCOUNT IS BEING SHUT DOWN THANKS TO SOUNDCLOUD'S COPYRIGHT POLICE. FOLLOW: GenErik, a producer and curator of wonderful music, loves disco, funk, tropical, house, hip-hop, classics, re-edits, ghetto funk, future beats, and mashups. With a punk rocker dad and a mum making speakers in shop class he started a life seeped in music. He started DJing at 10 years old, playing vinyl at his local primary school blue light disco. Started producing music at 12 using trackers on Amigas and early Macs. His early teens were spent listening to gabber, rotterdam hardcore, indie and grunge and of course hip hop. He always was a child of the rave generation, despite just becoming of age at its end, attending the last few big arena raves of the era. Always a music producer at heart, he was a member of the primordial Norwegian electro-pop scene along such alumnus as Röyksopp, Annie, Ralph Myerz and Datarock. Owing to technological progress allowing people to play five hour set without bringing a van of back-breaking milk crates to gigs, as well as a receptive international audience he’s spent the last few years returning to his love of music through DJing, podcasting and producing. He spends very little energy on pointless petty genre or technology battles and focuses only on projecting love for good music to people who appreciate good music above all. And he's bringing loads of his friends, local or international, with him on a musical journey, every week on his weekly podcast GenErik & Friends.
