How well do you handle change (the good and the 'unexpected')?
I've found that it all just comes down to Resilience... It means “bouncing back” from difficult experiences. Resilience is not a trait that people either have or do not have. It involves behaviors, thoughts, and actions that can be learned and developed in anyone.
To the degree that it is learned, resilience seems to develop out of the challenge to maintain self-esteem. Those who lack resilience, instead become trapped feeling overwhelmed by such experiences. They may dwell on problems and use unhealthy coping mechanisms to deal with such challenges. Resilience does not eliminate stress or erase difficulties in life. The good news is that most people are very capable of learning the skills that it takes to become more resilient.
