Podcast 009: Perfect Show – Hypnosis

This episode is somewhat different from your usual one on the Fit4theGig Podcast. I want to provide a guided self hypnosis for visualizing a perfect performance.
I was first introduced to hypnosis by a mental coach that I used to train with for several years. After a year of working with me, he mentioned that I might be interested in participating in an upcoming hypnosis seminar. He said I would most likely benefit hugely, especially from self hypnosis. I am really glad to have followed his advice, as self hypnosis turned out to be a great tool for me.
What is hypnosis?
Hypnosis is actually just a certain state of mind, a state of mind, that we all experience multiple times per day. It´s nothing spectacular but can be used in interesting ways. The classic example is when you are on the way somewhere, like on a train, or even when driving yourself and suddenly you realize you have no idea what you did in the last little while, but somehow you got to where you wanted to go. It´s almost like you were asleep, except you managed to continue doing, what you had planned to do. In this state of mind, we are very open to suggestions but we cannot be forced to do anything thats against our ethics. Often this suggestibility is being used by show hypnotists to get us to do things, that are a little embarrassing for ourselves but really funny for the audience, but of course there are more constructive and even therapeutic ways to use hypnosis.
About this recording
I never really used hypnosis on other people, but I did use self hypnosis a lot. To relax in stressful environments and for mental trainings, visualizing perfect shows to kind of program a show going well or staying focused and relaxed into my subconscious mind. And this is what I am going do with you today. It´s only going to take 5 to 10 minutes and it´s not meant to take you very far from your normal state of mind. You will just get to a deeper relaxation than you experience in normal life, to a place where your ability to visualize will be a lot better.
