The boys are back with actual Deadpool this time!! In this episode Corwin explains how to take a family of four out to the movies properly, then says he only wants to hear about Scott’s sexy time dreams. Scott talks about a reoccurring dream he’s been having, then has to explain what a fluffer is to Corwin. The books for May 2017 are reviewed in which they say goodbye to Uncanny Avengers, and goodbye to their wallets with some of these prices. In Past-O-Vision they visit the year of 2003 and review Agent X #5. Then finally boys do a Hit List for Who They Want to Voice Deadpool in the Upcoming Animated Show. A Solid Review Podcast with a 5-Star Theme Song
I listen to Earth's Mightiest Podcast and Earth's Mightiest X-Cast. I do not listen to Merc With A Podcast, so this will not reflect that podcast.
Well worth your time. Well worth starting from the beginning. The early podcasts, while rocky, have mid-show intermission-style skits and sketches that are worth hearing. The early episodes are not bad, just long. Alex, Corwin, and Viet have a very good chemistry when they are on their game, and the subject matter (current Avengers and X-books) is interesting. The show truly lives up to its tagline that it will "protect you from bad books and avenge the books you might have missed." The rotating chair on EMX is very interesting, and Tribe One, the most frequently rotated in host, has very good chemistry with the main three.
Unfortunately, the hosts are not always on their game, perhaps due to the fact that, as family men, they seem to record at a very late hour when it will not affect their family time. Conversations frequently tail off somewhat uncomfortably as they run out of things to say about one book but no one is pushing hard enough on getting to the next one in line.
Finally, it really is a 5-star theme song. I really do enjoy the show, and would like to rate it higher, but one of the very admirable things about Alex, Corwin, and Viet is that they do not soft pedal their ratings on books. They are frank and honest, and books that the hosts' conversation show have a lot to recommend them still get 3s. EMP gets 3.5 Entertaining Hosts.
