The act of forgiveness can be very challenging for most people. But what we can start to realize is as we forgive ourselves it becomes easier to forgive others. Holding a grudge is like drinking poison yourself everyday... eventually this will be harmful mentally and emotionally and eventually physically. I am not saying that harmful behavior is excusable or acceptable, not at all. For our spiritual growth there may be ways we can look at situations to come from a more healing, compassionate place from within.
