First Impressions of the iPhone 6s Plus – TBO020
Oct 2 15
So, I have a confession to make. I, like many other techno-geeks, love to hop over to YouTube and watch unboxing videos of the new iPhone. It is my little secret obsession...well...not any more I guess. The point is this: I love the iPhone. And, last Saturday, I went out and upgraded from an iPhone 5s to a brand new 128GB Silver iPhone 6s Plus. (Or "6s+" if you prefer) Since most of the stuff on the web applies to sighted folks, I thought I would give my perspective based on being blind.
I ran across an article speaking about how Facebook had banned an ad from RNIB (Royal National Insitute on Blind People). The ad spoke about the need for more "Sight Loss Advisors" in hospitals in the UK. I play the ad in this episode, but check here for a link to the article. Pretty interesting...
My thoughts weren't so much about Facebook banning the ad but about the need for Sight Loss Advisors. I think this is a great idea and would love to see it implimented more in eye clinics and such. When I lost my sight, I didn't have a lot to go on and there weren't a lot of people lining up o help. So, what a wonderful idea it would be to have someone or a team of people who are there, ready to help with the transition you are about to go through. Thoughts?
The Big One in Silver, Please
As I said, I picked up the new iPhone 6s Plus this past weekend. (Special nod to my wife for sitting with me through it all. You are awesome!) It is a great device and I am SO glad I upgraded. Here are a few highlights I cover in this episode:
My Thoughts on Handling It
My Thoughts on the Size
Let me know if you are planning on getting the new iPhone, if you have picked one up or why you wouldn't switch. I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below!
