Writer Gary Goldstein: "Children of the Cornware"
Dennis visits the Hollywood Hills home of playwright and screenwriter Gary Goldstein to discuss Gary’s new play “April, May and June,” which just opened at Theatre 40 in Beverly Hills. Gary talks about the play’s inspiration, working with actors, the corny knick knacks that feature prominently and the road to getting the play produced. He also discussed the string of movies he's written for the Hallmark Channel starring everyone from Brooke Shields to Joey Lawrence. He also talks about working in film publicity for Universal before transitioning to writing and shuttling famous actors like Meryl Streep, Sissy Spacek, Jamie Lee Curtis and Kevin Kline around for interviews. Other topics include: his favorite waste of time, the movie he’s seen more than any other, his lowest point professionally and that time he saw a certain gay diva at the Century City mall.

DENNIS ANYONE? Yes please!
Do you want to know what it's really like to struggle as an artist? Do you have great affection for what you do, know you have the skills, and STILL can't catch a break? Well, take a stool next to Dennis Hensley and marvel at his conversational skills with such wonderful guests as James La Rosa, Willem Belli, Bryan Thompson and Jonathan Tolins. Dennis' travails come through loud and clear. There's a through line here, no matter who is on as his guest, which resonates so deeply with me, and hopefully should for you too. He makes people open up and tell the truth. It's a gift worth celebrating.
