Consumerism values our usefuless--often at all costs. While "usefulness" isnt bad in itself, if it becomes our identity, we're in trouble. When usefulenss replaces "being present," we're espeically in trouble. It’s good to make a difference. It’s why we do so much of what we do at Connection Quad Cities. But "making a difference" can easily be about control instead of what it's supposed to be about: trust.
