The Detroit Lions did it again on Thanksgiving. They kept hope alive, agonizing their fanbase until Darius Slay and Matt Prater provided the heroics in a 15-13 win over the Minnesota Vikings.
We all know it essentially put Detroit two games clear in the NFC North, but the fat lady isn’t warming up yet. A familiar villain in the West shook of its death rattle to provide some intrigue over the remaining five games.
The state of the Packers and the Thanksgiving win gave us plenty to discuss on this week’s podcast. One note of particular importance: The defense continues to keep opponents out of the end zone. We dive into how they’re pulling it off and why the unit is performing better.
We also looked at the offensive issues. Detroit continues to be among the league leaders in three and outs. Is there hope in sight?
After the mailbag of your questions, Josh Katzenstein of The Times-Picayune joined us to give us the low down on the New Orleans Saints. He explains how the New Orlean defense is going through its own renaissance and what makes the Saints offense so difficult to contain.
Of course, we end the show by giving out each team’s advantage and taking aim with our bold predictions.
