The Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital BlogTalkRadio show was designed to provide a behind the scenes look at the people, places and work we do at Johns Hopkins All Children's. Each 30-minute episode will feature guest speakers from our institution who will share his or her own experience, knowledge and testimonial of what they do each day to make this institution the most advanced source of pediatric care on Florida's West Coast. Our host and guests will cover topics such as employee recruitment, corporate culture, clinical areas such as Neonatology, Neurosciences, The Heart Institute, Cancer, as well as what life is like on Florida's Gulf Coast. Our show will broadcast live on the first and third Wednesdays of each month at 12:30 Eastern time. Meet Amy Olson, Our Director of Employee Health & Wellness
Join us as our host, Carol McDaniel, sits down with guest Amy Olson, director of Employee Health & Wellness at Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital.
With nearly 30 years of occupational health experience, Amy has been taking care of workers for the majority of her career. She received her master’s degree in occupational health from Harvard School of Public Health and is a certified occupational health nurse and health coach. With over 15 years of management/leadership experience, Amy is committed to Johns Hopkins All Children’s employees and the community in which it serves.
Before joining Johns Hopkins All Children’s, Amy worked at Sidra Medical Center, Doha, Qatar and The Ministry of Health, Doha, Qatar. She also spent time at Avera McKennan Hospital and University Center, which employs 6,000 people.
A happier and healthier employee makes for a happier and healthier work environment. Knowing this, Amy challenges herself to look for opportunities that positively influence people’s health and safety behaviors. She seeks solutions that create wins for both employees and Johns Hopkins All Children’s.
Amy’s greatest personal achievement is climbing Mount Kilimanjaro. When she is not working, she loves spending time with her husband and exploring St. Petersburg on her bike.
