Episode 8: Adie Volich
Welcome back Bingers! This episode of Binge Thinking saw Caspar sitting down with Disability Support Worker, Adie Volich. Adie has worked face-to-face with people living with disabilities at the Melbourne-based Milparinka organisation for the last eight years. They binged on the physical and social barriers that people with disabilities face in Australia. Adie shared her views on the misconceptions about what kind of life a person with physical or mental disabilities can have. Caspar and Adie also got bingeing on the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), the policy game-changer for people in Australia living with disabilities, currently being rolled out. Do you know someone with a disability? Maybe you have one yourself? Are you afraid of people with disabilities or are you just not sure how to behave around them? Let yourself be challenged by Adie’s expert perspective and get on our level. As always, this episode was produced by Nina Roxburgh and features music by Big Gigantic. Happy Bingeing!
